About Jenny Ruley

I have been seriously taking photographs for 10+ years, starting in 1995 when my daughter was born. I photographed her growth at first then started producing images for other people of their children. I believe I am strong on capturing people's moments. I have studied photography from various schools in San Diego & Monterey, CA and learned from Master photographers. Influenced by local artists while in Monterey, CA(1997 -2000), I ventured into a series of alternative photographic methods and created my "Fine Art" series of female nudes. From 2000-2003, I lived in Japan, where I did travel and event photographs. Now I live in Mclean, VA, where my hobby as a triathlete has led me to do more sports photography currently.

I have been selected into juried shows including the Monterey Museum of Art, CA, Yokosuka City (Japan) Art festival with Honorable Mention Award, Mclean Photography Society, 2nd place in Black & White category, and most recently, NOVA student Juried show.

I am technically proficient with lighting technique (studio lighting or ambient light), and knowledge of large format , medium format and digital photography. I love portraits but I am excited about photographing different subjects as they might occur.

Please email me with any questions.
